Jakarta,-Pemerintah mencatat, setidaknya ada 20 kasus bunuh diri anak-anak sejak Januari 2023. Hal itu disampaikan Deputi bidang Perlindungan Khusus Anak Kementerian Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Perlindungan Anak (KemenPPPA). Nahar.
Nahar mengatakan bahwa para korban bunuh diri merupakan anak-anak berusia di bawah 18 tahun. Menurutnya, kebanyakan mereka yang bunuh diri disebabkan oleh depresi.
“Catatan kami tahun 2023 saja kasus bunuh diri anak sudah sampai di angka 20 kasus. Penyebab, ada depresi, dugaan perundungan, dan banyak penyebabnya,” kata Nahar kepada wartawan di Kantor KemenPPPA Jakarta, Jumat (10/11/2023).
Nahar juga bilang bahwa korban kasus bunuh diri tersebar di beberapa wilayah di Indonesia. Dampak psikis yang kerap dialami anak-anak akibat kekerasan maupun perundungan, kata dia, bisa mengakibatkan masalah baru.
“Jangan sampai dampak psikis itu mengakibatkan masalah baru termasuk bunuh diri. Kita harus segera menangani kalo ada anak yang mengalami masalah, di cek dampaknya sekecil apapun,” ujarnya.
