Jakarta,- Timnas Ekuado U-17 berhasil memastikan diri lolos ke babak 16 besar Piala Dunia U-17, pada Kamis (16/11/2023). Ekuador lolos sebagai peringkat kedua Grup A menemani Maroko yang menjadi juara grup.
Kepastian ini didapat usai Ekuador meraih hasil imbang 1-1 saat menghadapi Panama. Laga terakhir Grup A ini berlangsung di Stadion Manahan, Surakarta, pada Kamis (16/11/2023) malam WIB.
Ekuador memimpin lebih dulu berkat gol Elkin Ruiz di menit ke-24. Panama mampu mencetak gol di babak kedua lewat aksi Oldemar Castillo yang menyamakan skor menjadi 1-1.
Tambahan satu poin yang diperoleh menempatkan Ekuador di posisi kedua klasemen Grup A. Ekuador mengumpulkan lima poin dari tiga pertandingan, selisih satu angka Maroko di urutan teratas.
Pada pertandingan lainnya, Maroko mampu mengalahkan Indonesia dengan skor 3-1 di Stadion Gelora Bung Tomo, Kamis (16/11/2023) malam WIB. Mereka menang berkat gol-gol Anas Alaoui (29′), Abdelhamid Ait Boudlal (38′), dan Mohamed Hamony (64′).
Garuda Asia hanya mencetak satu gol balasan melalui tendangan bebas Nabil Asyura (42′). Kemenangan ini membuat Maroko memuncaki Grup A dengan enam poin, diikuti Ekuador dengan lima poin.
Indonesia finis di peringkat ketiga dengan dua poin. Panama di posisi dasar klasemen dengan dua poin (Indonesia unggul produktivitas gol tiga berbanding dua).
Di klasemen peringkat tiga terbaik, Uzbekistan sudah lolos dengan empat poin. Iran masih di tempat kedua dengan tiga poin, ditempel Jepang dengan poin sama yang kalah produktivitas gol.
Indonesia di tempat keempat dengan dua poin. Skuad Garuda Muda butuh keajaiban untuk lolos ke babak 16 besar.
