Phnom Penh,-Kedutaan Besar Republik Indonesia (KBRI) Phnom Penh memulangkan 57 Pekerja Migran Indonesia Bermasalah (PMIB), Rabu (8/5/2024). Para PMIB ini sebelumnya dipekerjakan pada perusahaan online scam (penipuan online) di Kandal, Kamboja.
Mereka dipulangkan secara bertahap dengan mayoritas ulang pada 8 Mei 2024. Kemudian, menggunakan penerbangan Air Asia dari Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) ke Kualanamu International Airport (KNO).
Proses pemulangan ke-57 PMIB berawal dari pengaduan dan kedatangan keseluruhan para PMIB tersebut ke kantor KBRI Phnom Penh. Tepatnya pada 26 April 2024.
Setelah sebelumnya para PMIB dimaksud melarikan diri dari perusahaan. Sekitar dua jam perjalanan darat dari Kota Phnom Penh.
Setelah melalui proses asesmen dari KBRI Phnom Penh serta koordinasi dengan pihak General Department of Immigration (GDI), Kamboja. Akhirnya proses pemulangan 57 PMIB tersebut dapat dimulai secara bertahap dari 30 April sampai 8 Mei 2024.
Sementara, berdasarkan data Kementerian Luar Negeri sebanyak 3.428 kasus penipuan online scam yang melibatkan WNI selama 2020-2023. Ribuan kasus tersebut tercatat di delapan negara dengan mayoritas terdapat di Kamboja, Myanmar dan Filipina.
