Dikutip dari Guardian Minggu (16/6/2024), pemadam kebakaran dan penyelamatan Portland mengatakan di platform sosial X bahwa petugas pemadam kebakaran bekerja dengan para insinyur di Oaks Park untuk menurunkan wahana secara manual, tetapi kru telah bersiap untuk melakukan penyelamatan tali sudut tinggi jika diperlukan.
Semua penumpang wahana berhasil dievakuasi dan dievaluasi secara medis, dan tidak ada laporan cedera. Seorang pengendara dengan kondisi medis yang sudah ada sebelumnya dibawa ke rumah sakit untuk evaluasi lebih lanjut sebagai tindakan pencegahan, kata Oaks Amusement Park dalam sebuah pernyataan yang diposting di media sosial. Petugas medis membebaskan semua penumpang lainnya.
Wahana tersebut, yang disebut AtmosFear, beroperasi seperti pendulum, dengan kemampuan untuk mengayunkan pengendaranya secara terbalik.
Petugas kebakaran Portland mengatakan sekitar 30 orang berada di dalamnya. Sedangkan berdasarkan pernyataan taman hiburan menyebutkan ada 28 penumpang wahana.
Wahana ini telah beroperasi sejak 2021 dan belum pernah mengalami insiden sebelumnya, kata pihak taman. Ini akan tetap ditutup sampai pemberitahuan lebih lanjut. Pihak taman mengatakan akan bekerja sama dengan produsen kendaraan dan inspektur negara bagian untuk menentukan penyebab penghentian tersebut.
