Medan ,-Ketua TP PKK Kota Medan Ny Kahiyang Ayu M Bobby Afif Nasution mengajak masyarakat, terutama kaum ibu untuk mendukung suksesnya pelaksanaan imunisasi Human Papilomavirus Vaccine (HPV). Sebab, imunisasi ini dilakukan sebagai upaya mencegah sejak dini terjadinya kanker serviks yang disebabkan virus HPV tersebut.
“Anak anda sangat berharga, jangan biarkan kanker serviks merenggutnya. Mari kita sukseskan program imunisasi ini. Jadi jangan takut untuk mendapatkan imunisasi HPV, karena ini merupakan bagian dari ikhtiar kita dalam mencegah kanker serviks,” kata Ny Kahiyang Ayu saat meninjau pemberian vaksin HPV di SD Negeri 060901 Jalan Mongonsidi, Medan, Kamis (31/8).
Dukungan yang diberikan, jelas Ny Kahiyang Ayu, bisa dilakukan dengan membawa anak perempuannya yang kelas 5 SD/Madrasah Ibtidaiyah sederajat atau berusia 11 tahun yang tidak bersekolah guna mendapatkan vaksinasi HPV yang digelar melalui kegiatan Bulan Imunisasi Anak Sekolah (BIAS).
Dengan vaksinasi yang dilakukan, kata Ny Kahiyang Ayu, maka sang anak yang mendapatkan vaksin HPV akan memiliki kekebalan tubuh sehingga untuk mencegah terjadinya kanker serviks. Seperti yang diketahui, vaksinasi HPV adalah program imunisasi untuk melindungi tubuh dari virus HPV yang menyebabkan terjadinya kanker serviks tersebut.
Pelaksanaan vaksinasi HPV di SD Negeri 060901 berjalan lancar. Sebanyak 17 siswi kelas 5 SD yang mengikutinya. Diharapkan, para siswi itu akan memiliki kekebalan tubuh sehingga terhindar dari kanker serviks. Dalam peninjauan tersebut, Ketua TP PKK Kota Medan turut didampingi Ketua I Bidang Pembinaan Karakter Keluarga Ny Ismiralda Wiriya Alrahman, Kadis Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan Kota Medan Laksamana Putra, Kadis Kesehatan Taufik Ririansyah dan Camat Medan Polonia Amran Muhzi.
