Medan,-Guna mengatasi persoalan banjir yang kerap melanda kawasan Jalan Asia, Pemko Medan melalui Dinas Sumber Daya Air Bina Marga Bina Konstruksi (SDABMBK) Kota Medan akan melakukan pelebaran Parit Emas di sepanjang Jalan Sampali, Kelurahan Pandau Hulu II, Kecamatan Medan Area. Dengan pelebaran yang dilakukan, Parit Emas dapat menampung debit air saat hujan deras turun dan mengalirkannya ke sungai sehingga meminimalisir terjadinya banjir yang selama ini dikeluhkan warga.
Hal ini terungkap saat Wali Kota Medan Bobby Nasution meninjau pemancangan tiang pelebaran Parit Emas, Selasa (5/9). Pelebaran dilakukan karena Sebagian Parit Emas mengalami penyempitan sehingga tidak mampu menampung debit air. Kondisi itu menyebabkan air yang datang dari kawasan Jalan Asia terhambat menuju sungai sehingga meluap dan menggenangi rumah warga.
Saat tiba dilokasi, Bobby Nasution yang hadir didampingi didampingi Dandim 0201/ Medan Kol Inf Ferry Muzawwad, Kapolrestabes Medan Kombes Pol Valentino Alfa Tatareda, Kadis SDABMBK Topan Obaja Putra Ginting melihat alat berat telah bersiap untuk melakukan pemancangan.
Dikatakan Bobby Nasution, pelebaran Parit Emas ini dilakukan sebagai salah satu upaya Pemko Medan untuk mengatasi banjir yang kerap terjadi di Jalan Asia. Pelebaran parit, jelasnya akan diseragamkan dengan lebar 7 meter guna mempercepat aliran air dari parit menuju sungai.
Diungkapkan menantu Presiden Joko Widodo ini, pelebaran Parit Emas ini akan berdampak terhadap tiga kawasan yakni Jalan Asia, Kota Matsum dan Jalan Ismailiyah. Artinya, jelasnya, kurang lebih seluas 170 hektar area yang akan terdampak dari pelebaran parit tersebut. Tapi, imbuhnya, Jalan Asia yang paling berdampak dengan pelebaran parit yang dilakukan.
“Kawasan Jalan Asia merupakan area bisnis dan perekonomian di Kota Medan. Jika (banjir) tidak diatasi, kita khawatirkan akan berdampak terhadap sektor perekonomian. Untuk itu, permasalahan banjir ini harus secepatnya kita lakukan,” ungkapnya.
Selanjutnya, pria kelahiran Kota Medan ini menuturkan, sepanjang area pelebaran Parit Emas, 90 persen di antaranya merupakan milik Pemko Medan sehingga pelebaran yang dilakukan tidak mengambil lahan milik masyarakat. Direncanakan, ungkapnya, pengerjaan pelebaran parit akan selesai Desember mendatang.
Dalam peninjauan tersebut, Bobby Nasution juga berdiskusi dengan warga sekitar. Sejumlah saran dan masukan, termasuk adanya penolakan dari segelintir warga terkait pelebaran parit yang dilakukan. Dengan persuasif dan penuh rasa kekeluargaan, orang nomor satu di Pemko Medan ini selanjutnya menjelaskan akan pentingnya pelebaran parit yang dilakukan. Setelah dijelaskan, masyarakat pun dapat memahami dan menerima pelebaran parit tersebut.
Usai berdiskusi dengan masyarakat, Bobby Nasution kemudian melihat pemancangan tiang pelebaran parit menggunakan alat berat. Disela – sela peninjauannya, suami Ketua TP PKK Kota Medan ini juga masih menyapa warga lain seraya membagikan paket sembako, terutama bagi sejumlah keluarga kurang mampu.
