Langkat- Polsek Pangkalan Brandan Polres Langkat berhasil mengungkap kasus tindak pidana pencurian dengan kekerasan (jambret) yang sempat viral di media sosial. Kejadian ini terjadi di depan toko Alfamart Jln. Thamrin Kel. Brandan Barat Babalan, pada Minggu, 22 September 2024, sekitar pukul 04.50 WIB. Korban Zeli Parlianto(40) (tunawicara atau bisu) kehilangan tas sandangnya yang berisi uang tunai sebesar Rp 90.000, serta mengalami luka pada jari manis tangan kirinya akibat aksi kekerasan tersebut.
Kapolsek Pangkalan Brandan, AKP Irwanta Sembiring, S.H., M.H., langsung bergerak cepat bersama Kanit Reskrim IPDA Tomi Elvisa Ginting, SH untuk menangani kasus ini. Setelah melakukan penyelidikan intensif, pada Senin, 23 September 2024, sekitar pukul 04.00 WIB, tersangka berinisial RW (19) berhasil diamankan di atas atap salah satu rumah warga di Jalan Irian Barat Kel. Berandan Barat Kecamatan Babalan.
Setelah diintrogasi, RW mengakui perbuatannya dan menyatakan bahwa ia melakukan aksi pencurian tersebut bersama rekannya berinisial A (22), yang saat ini masih dalam status Daftar Pencarian Orang (DPO). Hasil curian berupa uang tunai Rp 90.000 dibagi rata, masing-masing mendapat Rp 45.000.
Kapolres Langkat, AKBP David Triyo Prasojo, S.H., S.I.K., M.Si., melalui Kasi Humas Polres Langkat, AKP Rajendra Kusuma, mengatakan, “Pengungkapan cepat kasus ini menunjukkan komitmen Kepolisian dalam menindak tegas segala bentuk tindak pidana, terutama yang meresahkan masyarakat.” Tegasnya. Dengan tertangkapnya RW, Polisi kini terus melakukan pengejaran terhadap rekan tersangka yang masih buron. Keberhasilan ini mendapat apresiasi dari masyarakat, mengingat respons cepat Kepolisian dalam menangani kasus yang sempat menarik perhatian luas di media sosial.
AKP Rajendra Kusuma juga mengimbau masyarakat untuk tetap waspada dan segera melaporkan kejadian serupa kepada pihak berwajib agar tindakan kriminal dapat ditangani dengan cepat dan tepat.
