Medan,-Untuk menambah motivasi dan semangat bagi para atlet NPC Kota Medan yang akan mengikuti Pekan Paralimpiade Nasional (Peparnas) XVII di Solo tahun 2024, Plt Wali Kota Medan H. Aulia Rachman menjanjikan pekerjaan di Pemko Medan kepada atlet yang nantinya mampu meraih prestasi membanggakan di ajang tersebut.
Janji tersebut disampaikan H. Aulia Rachman saat melepas kontingen NPC Kota Medan yang akan bertanding di Peparnas XVII yang berlangsung di Solo, bertempat di Balai Kota, Jum’at (27/9).
“Yang meraih medali emas nanti saya minta bekerja di Pemko Medan, karena memang kita memiliki kuota untuk penyandang disabilitas,”kata H. Aulia Rachman di dampingi Kadispora Kota Medan H. Tengku Chairuniza.
Karena itu H. Aulia Rachman ingin atlet NPC Kota Medan nantinya menampilkan kemampuan terbaiknya sehingga menjadi juara dan mengharumkan nama kota Medan.
“Saya ingin juara satu atau paling tidak juara tiga besar, jadi kalian bisa mendapatkan bonus dan juga pekerjaan,”ujar H. Aulia Rachman.
Dalam kesempatan itu H. Aulia Rachman juga berpesan kepada para atlet agar jangan berkecil hati dengan kekurangan yang ada, sebab dibalik itu ada kelebihan yang justru tidak di miliki oleh orang normal pada umumnya.
“Jangan pernah berkecil hati, karena kalian memiliki kelebihan yang justru tidak kami miliki, jadi tetaplah bersemangat, jadilah kebanggaan bagi keluarga dan Kota Medan,”pesan H. Aulia Rachman.
Sebelumnya Kepala Dinas Pemuda dan Olahraga Kota Medan H. Tengku Chairuniza dalam laporanya menjelaskan tujuan pelepasan kontingen Peparnas ini ialah untuk memberikan motivasi bagi atlet, pelatih dan asisten pelatih yang akan bertanding dengan membawa nama kota Medan.
“Kontingen yang dilepas hari ini berjumlah 42 atlet ditambah 23 pelatih dan asisten pelatih,”jelas H. Tengku Chairuniza seraya menambahkan Peparnas XVII akan berlangsung dari tanggal 1 s/d 14 Oktober 2024 di Solo Jawa Tengah.
