Jakarta,-Timnas Prancis U-17 berhasil melangkah ke babak perempat final Piala Dunia U-17 2023. Les Blues Muda menang atas Senegal U-17 lewat drama adu penalti 5-3 (0-0) di Jakarta International Stadium (JIS), Rabu (22/11/2023) malam WIB.
Prancis mendapat sentuhan bola pertama, namun umpan pertama mereka melenceng yang langsung dimanfaatkan baik tim lawan. Senegal membalas dan tampil lebih menekan dengan banyak menguasai bola dan aktif menebar ancaman dari sisi sayap.
Prancis mendapat sepak pojok pertama di menit ke-20. Sebuah tembakan ke gawang pun dilepaskan yang beruntung masih bisa diselamatkan kiper Senegal, Serigne Fallou Diouf.
Di menit ke-35, pelatih Prancis, Jean-Luc Vannuchi, mengganti penggawanya, Mathis Amougou dengan Tidiane Diallo. Namun hingga babak pertama usai, skor imbang 0-0 tidak berubah.
Usai turun minum, Senegal sukses mencetak gol pada menit ke-58 melalui tendangan Diandy yang memanfaatkan rebound sepakan Gueye. Namun, hakim garis mengangkat bendera tanda Diandy dalam posisi offside sebelum gol terjadi.
Diandy membuang peluang emas Senegal unggul pada menit ke-67. Dalam posisi bebas di kotak penalti Prancis, tendangan keras kaki kanan Diandy melenceng tipis di sisi kanan gawang.
Pada sisa pertandingan, Senegal dan Prancis sama-sama bisa menyerang hingga kotak penalti lawan. Tetapi tidak ada tambahan gol tercipta, sehingga pertandingan langsung berlanjut ke babak adu penalti.
Dua eksekutor pertama masing-masing tim sukses menjalankan tugasnya, Kayi Sanda membawa Prancis unggul sebelum disamakan oleh Idrissa Gueye. Yoram Zague kemudian kembali membawa Prancis unggul 2-1.
Eksekutor kedua Senegal, Daouda Diong, gagal mengonversi penalti jadi gol usai tendangannya ditepis kiper Prancis. Penalti Joan Trinces berhasil dan Prancis unggul 3-1.
Bastien Meupiyou kemudian membawa Prancis unggul 4-2 dan dibalas oleh Mamadou Sawane. Kemenangan Prancis akhirnya dipastikan oleh penalti Nhoa Sangui.
Prancis menjadi negara terakhir yang meraih tiket ke perempatfinal Piala Dunia U-17 2023. Mereka selanjutnya akan menghadapi Uzbekistan pada babak delapan besar yang digelar di Stadion Manahan, Surakarta, Sabtu (25/11/2023) mendatang.
