Jakarta,- Hasil pengundian Piala Asia U-23 2024 telah digelar di Doha, Qatar, Kamis (23/11/2023) sore WIB. Timnas Indonesia U-23 menempati grup A yang tergolong ‘grup Neraka’, bersama tuan rumah Qatar, Australia, dan Yordania.
Piala Asia U-23 2024 akan mulai dilangsungkan pada 15 April hingga 3 Mei 2024. Timnas Indonesia U-23 asuhan Shin Tae-yong sukses lolos ke putaran final setelah menang dua kali kontra Turkmenistan dan Taiwan di babak kualifikasi.
Rafael Struick dan kolega membantai Taiwan dengan skor 9-0 sebelum membekuk Turkmenistan dengan skor 2-0. Namun, karena ini baru pertama kalinya Timnas Indonesia U-23 tampil di Piala Asia U-23, maka mereka harus puas berada di pot 4.
Sementara grup B juga bisa dikatakan sebagai grup neraka. Hal ini lantaran Jepang, Korea Selatan, Unit Emirat Arab, dan Tiongkok berada dalam satu grup demi memperebutkan dua tiket lolos ke fase gugur.
Grup C ditempati oleh Arab Saudi, Irak, Thailand, dan Tajikistan. Sedangkan grup D terdapat Uzbekistan, Vietnam, Kuwait, dan Malaysia.
Tiga tim teratas di Piala Piala Asia U-23 2023 akan lolos langsung ke Olimpiade Paris 2024. Sementara peringkat keempat akan menjalani playoff dengan wakil Afrika.
