Medan, – Sekelompok massa yang diduga sebagian besar mahasiswa HKBP Nomensen tiba tiba masuk ke kampus UINSU di Jalan Willem Iskandar Medan Estate, Jumat 10/11 sore. Mereka mencari mahasiswa UINSU yang kebetulan memiliki pertikaian dengan mereka.
Kedatangan sekelompok orang tersebut disambut massa mahasiswà UINSU sehingga terjadi bentrokan fisik yang menyebabakan dua orang mahasiswa UINSU terluka.
Kejadian ini semua masih diduga dan kami bersepakat supaya kejadian ini diusut tuntas sampai setuntas-tuntasnya. Kepada pelaku yang terbukti bersalah agar dihukum secara aturan perundang-undangan,” urai Rektor UINSU Prof Nurhayati dalam konferensi pers.
Ia melanjutkan, jika memang juga terbukti ada mahasiswa UINSU yang terlibat dalam kejadian ini, akan diberikan sanksi atau hukuman sesuai dengan perbuatan pelaku. Termasuk juga sanksi secara akademik akan diberikan.
Rektor UHN Medan Dr Richard menyampaikan, turut prihatin dengan adanya tindak kekerasan kriminal yang terjadi di kampus II UINSU Medan. Yang diduga pelaku kekerasan atau bentrok tersebut berasal dari mahasiswa UHN Medan.
“Kami nyatakan itu masih diduga, dan itu masih dinyatakan sebagai oknum yang mengatasnamakan institusi UHN Medan,”
“Oleh sebab itu, kami meminta aparat kepolisian untuk mengusut tuntas kasus ini. Jika nantinya terbukti benar yang terlibat adalah mahasiswa Universitas HKBP Nomensen Medan, selain tindakan hukum, kami juga akan melakukan tindakan akademis dengan memecat yang bersangkutan dari UHN Medan,” tegasnya.
Ia mengharapkan, terkait persoalan ini tidak akan menimbulkan keributan lain yang berkepanjangan khususnya antara mahasiswa UINSU Medan dan UHN Medan.
Perwakilan Polrestabes Medan, Kasat Intelkam AKBP Ahyan, SSos menyampaikan, turut mendukung kebijakan para rektor untuk mengusut tuntas kasus ini dan menegakkan ketentuan sesuai aturan. Yakni bagi para pelaku atau oknum yang mengatasnamakan institusi kampus masing-masing.
Informasi dihimpun di lapangan, sejumlah anak muda diduga mahasiswa mendatangi kampus II UINSU Medan, lalu bentrok antara kelompok mahasiswa pun pecah dan terjadi baku hantam. Belum diketahui pasti motif peristiwa ini. Namun dari kejadian, menyebabkan dua orang mahasiswa UINSU mengalami luka-luka dan kini sudah ditangani dan dilakukan perawatan di rumah sakit.
Dengan respons cepat, petugas kepolisian lalu bersiaga dan melakukan pengamanan di kampus dan disambut dengan pertemuan dan konferensi pers para pimpinan kampus. Sebelumnya, Rektor Prof Nurhayati turut turun ke lokasi untuk menenangkan mahasiswa. Massa pun membubarkan diri dari lokasi kejadian.
