Lubuk Pakam, – PSMS Medan semakin kokoh di peringkat ketiga klasemen sementara Grup 1 Liga 2 musim 2023/2024 dengan mengoleksi 15 poin. Tambahan tiga poin tersebut didapat setelah PSMS Medan menang tipis dengan skor 0-1 fi Stadion Baharoeddin Siregar, Lubukpakam, Senin (27/11/2023) sore.
Kemenangan lewat gol tunggal Ikhsan Pratama menit ke-37 tersebut membuat tim berjuluk Ayam Kinantan membayang-bayangi Persiraja di peringkat kedua dengan 18 poin. Sementara itu semen Padang menjadi pemuncak dengan 20 poin. Menariknya, PSMS Medan baru bertanding sembilan kali, sementara enam tim lainnya sudah 10 kali bertanding.
Kendati berstatus sebagai tamu, PSMS Medan langsung menmabil kendali pertandingan sejak peluit kick-off ditiupkan wasit Agung Setiawan. Sejumlah peluang diciptakan pemain PSMS, namun tak berbuah gol. Menit ke-22, sepakan Ichsan Pratama umpan Rachmad Hidayat, melayang tipis di atas mistar gawang PSDS. PSDS sebenarnya bukan tanpa peluang, beberapa kans tercipta, sayangnya selalu digagalkan barisan pertahanan PSMS Medan.
Menit 36, umpan one-two Kerjasama Rachmad Hidayat dan striker Jose Valencia, juga tak berbuah gol. Sepakan Java, sapaan Valencia, diblok pemain PSDS.
Ichsan Pratama sukses mencetak gol menit ke-37, meneruskan lesakan bola dari Ikhsan Chan. Ikhsan Pratama berhasil mencetak gol pertama untuk PSMS Medan. Namun, hingga peluit tanda babak pertama usai ditiupkan wasit, skor 0-1 untuk PSMS tak berubah.
Bermaksud memperkuat penyelesaian akhir, duo Ikhsan Pratama dan Ikhsan Chan diganti dengan memasukkan Ridho Syuhada dan Sandeni Sidabutar. Hasilnya, Ridho Syuhada nyaris menambah keunggulan PSMS jika sepakannya yang dihalau kiper Rafli Mahreza yang tinggal one-on-one dengan dia.
Begitu juga Sandeni Sidabutar, dua peluang matangnya gagal berbuah gol. Menit ke-82, sepakannya menyamping, lalu semenit kemudian kembali menyamping di sisi tiang gawang PSDS. Tidak ada lagi gol tercipta hingga wasit meniupkan peluit panjang tanda pertandingan berakhir.
