Medan,-Pertumbuhan ekonomi di Medan terus meningkat. Salah satu upaya yang dilakukan Pemko Medan menjadi konsumen utama Usaha Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM). Kebijakan yang dilahirkan Wali Kota Medan di masa Covid-19 lalu ini terbukti membuahkan hasil. UMKM yang dulunya terdampak pandemi, berhasil bangkit dan kini kian berkembang.
Dalam “Dialog Pro Aspirasi Sumut” RRINet Medan, Rabu (17/7) di Studio Podcast RRI Medan, Bobby Nasution memaparkan, UMKM tiang fondasi perekonomian. Saat krisis ekonomi, UMKM terbukti bisa bertahan. Namun, saat pandemi Covid-19 yang mengharuskan pembatasan aktivitas, UMKM terdampak. Banyak pelaku usaha yang terpukul.
“Melihat fakta itu, kita mengambil langkah menjadikan Pemko Medan sebagai konsumen utama UMKM,” ujarnya.
Bobby Nasution menuturkan, langkah awal yang dilakukan mendata seluruh UMKM di wilayah kelurahan dan kecamatan. Selanjutnya, para pelaku UMKM diedukasi untuk beradaptasi dengan digitalisasi. Seiring dengan itu, kecamatan maupun kelurahan mendampingi pelaku UMKM mengurus perizinan dan mendaftarkan produknya ke katalog elektronik Pemko Medan.
“Setelah itu, kita minta seluruh kecamatan, kelurahan, dan perangkat daerah untuk membeli produk makan dan minum UMKM di wilayahnya untuk konsumsi acara, termasuk rapat-rapat,” ungkapnya.
Dalam dialog yang juga menghadirkan narasumber Ketua Kadin Medan Arman Chandra itu, Bobby Nasution juga mengatakan, selain mempercepat transaksi, digitalisasi juga membantu pencatatan keuangan pelaku UMKM. Dengan demikian, tidak terjadi bercampurnya kas usaha dengan pengeluaran rumah tangga pelaku.
Pada bagian lain Bobby Nasution membeberkan data perumbuhan ekonomi Medan pasca pandemi. Dia menyebutkan, pada 2021 pertumbuhan ekonomi Medan tidak minus, melainkan 2,62 persen. Kemudian pada 2022 naik menjadi 4,72 persen dan 2023 meningkat lagi menjadi 5,04 persen.
Dia mengatakan, yang harus diperhatikan dan dijaga saat ini adalah inflasi yang dapat melambatkan pertumbuhan ekonomi. Inflasi yang relative rendah dan stabil mendorong terciptanya pertumbuhan ekonomi.
Pada dialog itu, Ketua Kadin Medan Arman Chandra menilai, pada masa kepemimpinan Bobby Nasution pertumbuhan ekonomi di kota ini sangatlah baik. Menurutnya, Bobby Nasution menciptakan daya tahan perekonomian dan meningkatkan pertumbuhan perekonomian pasca pandemi.
Di masa kepemimpinan Bobby Nasution, lanjutnya. Investor mendapatkan kemudahan dalam pengurusan perizinan. Kemudahan ini, lanjutnya, tidak hanya didapat pelaku UMKM, tapi juga menengah ke atas.
“Kita apresiasi Pemko dalam menciptakan iklim yang baik baik investasi. Dan tentu Kadin siap mendukung Pemko Medan agar investasi di kota ini semakin baik,” ungkapnya.
